We’re now looking for a passionate and proactive Health, Safety & Environment Manager to join our Irthlingborough site. What are the main responsibilities of the job role?
To provide key support to the development and implementation of a business wide Health, Safety and Environment strategy, whilst managing and over-seeing the day to day running of this vital function, ensuring that we continue and produce good quality products in a safe and compliant manner.
- Provide a professional and engaging service to customers
- Be part of the local Emergency Response Team as part of the site Crisis Management Process
- Ensure there are sufficient recording, investigation and corrective action for all accidents, environmental incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences. Ensure all required reports are reported to the HSE/EA or relevant authority
- Ensure communication and visualization of Health and Safety data on the site
- Representing Health, Safety and Environmental aspects in all projects, e.g., rebuilds, refurbishment, machinery upgrades etc
- Keep up to date on legal, local, and other Safety, Health and Environmental legislation to ensure the business is abiding by and understands all legal requirements
- Monitor Health, Safety & Environment training compliance for the site and advise on required competency levels
- Facilitate the monthly Health and Safety Steering Committee meetings, and report Health, Safety & Environment twice per year to the Board
- Identify and set performance metric and objectives for the site or individual departments based on appropriate proactive and reactive measurement standards.
- Train and develop a culture of personal responsibility and safe ways of working through the business
What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Experience in a FMCG/Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to adapt to a fast moving environment
- Project Management
- Good Communicator & able to deliver presentations
- Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Ability to train and develop others
