About The Role

 Are you an experienced compliance and technical professional looking to make a real impact in a fast-paced FMCG environment? We’re expanding our Operations Technical team and are looking for a Compliance Manager.
 

The purpose of the Compliance Manager role is to ensure compliance with Food Safety standards, BRC Standards, customer codes of practice, and Whitworths Quality Systems. You’ll maintain supplier approval documentation, and support audits, product launches, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What are the main responsibilities of the job role? 

You will:

  • Support accurate, right-first-time technical specifications
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety, BRC Standards, and customer codes of practice
  • Oversee supplier approval systems and maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Manage customer complaints, investigations, reporting, and resolution
  • Coordinate internal, customer, statutory, and third-party audits
  • Drive continuous improvement across technical systems, reporting, and processes
  • Maintain allergen and nutritional databases accurately
  • Support incident management, traceability, and recall procedures
  • Work cross-functionally to support product launches and technical projects
  • Support training and development within the technical team
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and support customer visits
What are the key ingredients needed for the role?

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to manage technical information and drive compliance within a fast-paced FMCG environment. You will be detail-focused, proactive, and confident managing stakeholders, systems, and competing priorities.

You will also have:

  • Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG technical/compliance environment
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, BRC Standards, and customer codes of practice
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, detail-focused, right-first-time approach with a continuous improvement mindset
