Hygiene Operative

At Whitworths, quality starts long before our products reach the shelves. We’re looking for a reliable, energetic Hygiene Operative to help keep our Irthlingborough site clean, safe and ready to deliver—every day.

This is a hands-on role where attention to detail matters. From our factories and warehouses to offices, facilities and outdoor areas, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining the high standards our people, customers and auditors expect.

What you’ll be doing

• Completing scheduled daily, weekly and periodic cleaning across the site
• Supporting with reactive cleaning when extra help is needed
• Collecting, segregating site waste
• Managing daily laundry requirements and litter-picking duties
• Completing hygiene records accurately and on time
• Following all food safety, personal hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Supporting customer visits and external audits
• Working closely with colleagues across Hygiene, Operations and Supply Chain to keep things running smoothly

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to know everything on day one—we’ll help you learn. What matters most is that you are:

• Self-motivated and ready to get stuck in
• Proud of delivering consistently high standards
• Organised and able to complete tasks to schedule
• Flexible when priorities change
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Committed to safe working and accurate record-keeping

Experience in food manufacturing and a Food Safety Level 2 qualification would be an advantage, but they are not essential.
