About The Role

Operations Administrator

Whitworths Ltd | Irthlingborough | 36.25 hours per week, Monday- Friday

Are you organised, accurate and someone who enjoys keeping things running smoothly? Do you like working with data, solving problems and supporting a busy operational team?

We’re looking for an Operations Administrator to provide reliable, responsive support across our manufacturing operation. You’ll play an important part in maintaining accurate information, coordinating day-to-day administration, supporting with on site risk assessments, and helping our teams deliver safely, efficiently and to the right standards.

The role

Working closely with managers and colleagues across Operations, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the operational team.
  • Maintain accurate records, documents and filing systems.
  • Collate and report weekly performance information and key operational measures.
  • Enter, check and update information across business and operational systems.
  • Help ensure documents and processes follow company procedures and relevant requirements.
  • Support internal reviews and audits, providing accurate information when needed.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide a professional service to internal and external contacts.
  • Identify issues, resolve straightforward queries and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Contribute to improvement initiatives across quality, performance, communication, health and safety and compliance.
  • Work flexibly with colleagues to meet changing operational priorities.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be someone who takes pride in getting the details right while keeping sight of the wider team’s priorities.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an administration or operational support role.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Confidence working with data, records and digital systems.
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A practical, solution-focused approach to problems.
  • The ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to completing work accurately and on time.
  • GCSEs, or equivalent experience, in English and Maths.

Experience within manufacturing, warehousing or logistics would be helpful, as would familiarity with management or ERP systems, but these are not essential if you have transferable skills and are keen to learn.

What makes you a great fit?

You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. You’ll take ownership of your responsibilities, communicate openly and build positive working relationships across different teams.

You’ll also bring our STAR values to life:

  • Solutions – finding practical ways forward and helping the business deliver.
  • Teamwork – supporting colleagues and working together across functions.
  • Accountability – taking ownership and keeping your promises.
  • Respect – treating people well, valuing different perspectives and helping others succeed.

Why Whitworths?

This role is a great opportunity to build your operational knowledge, develop your systems and reporting skills and gain experience that could support future progression into other administration, team leadership or operational roles.
