About The Role

Be part of something naturally good.

At Whitworths, we believe in the power of good food to do good things — for health, for families, and for the planet. And behind every pack of our naturally nutritious products is a passionate team, working together to make a real difference.

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Factory Technical Manager to join our Irthlingborough team.

A bit about the role:

As Factory Technical Manager, you’ll play a key role in our senior operations team, reporting to the Operations Director and working closely across departments to ensure that food safety, quality, and compliance aren’t just met — they’re exceeded.

You’ll lead the delivery and continual improvement of our quality systems, maintain and build on our BRC AA accreditation, and guide teams through HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP practices. This is a highly visible role — you’ll be the go-to for food safety expertise and a champion of technical best practice across the site.

You’ll also oversee two critical teams:

  • Quality, led by our QMS Managers and supported by a dedicated team of Quality Assurance Technicians

  • Hygiene, who ensure exceptional site-wide hygiene and pest control standards

What we’re looking for:

We’re after someone with solid experience in a similar role, ideally within food manufacturing, with formal food safety qualifications or relevant industry experience. But just as important as your expertise is how you work:

You’re a collaborator. An influencer. Someone who brings others with you as you lead.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm and confident under pressure — particularly during customer audits.
You’ll build strong relationships quickly and communicate clearly across all levels of the business.
You care about doing things the right way and are passionate about continuous improvement.

If you're committed to raising the bar for food safety and technical excellence — and want to do it with a team that shares your values — we’d love to hear from you.
